am still digesting the web of concepts outline in the ideological and supplemental frameworks of rania. rani, i believe that nothing stands greater than a life dedicated to creating a society where freedom and jusice reign. and i commend you for giving birth to rania.

i have, however, fundamental questions regarding its philosophy: why tie rania to both christianity and communism? why start heavy with the baggages loaded in such ideologies? freed from these labels, i believe rania will be better off.

where am i coming from? just recently, i encountered Berinarew, an epic (which is still unknown even in the country's leading universities, includling UP) by the Tedurays, a tribe (also elbowed to sidestream by both moslems and christians) in mindanao. Contained in the epic, among others, are concepts of human rights concepts and practices like sefebenal and kefio fedew. i translate sefebenal roughly as a right to defend human right and kefio fedew as a human condition free of hunger, injustice, etc. rani, i had been a human rights educator for more than a decade yet only in Berinarew have i met such rich concept of human rights. and right here in our country. what am i driving at? rania will lose nothing in plumbing the wisdom out of the very soil on which it stands.

and this brings me to my initial comments on rania's curriculum. in its quest for knowledge it must make a significant turn towards our own soil, our own people, our own culture, or own literature. rania's vision and mission are too great that the attainment of which should not be tied or entrusted to deped's and unicef's curricula. also, it must be critical of the dominat theories of child development that lay claim to universality. yes, these have come out from scientific studies, but still, these are borne out and framed based on specific experiences of people of different culture, llife situations, etc.

Prof. thank you very much. i think it over, in fact we started with the practical ones but thee is a question from the corners of my consciousness. Where are we heading? what is the end? at the middle of identifying the needs for curricula, training programs for teachers and auxiliaries and family development programs which are all central to child development, there must be a uniform end. we are not getting or robbing the individual and group ability or freedom to be creative and perform empowered with acquired knowledge and skills. We are trying to be humane. But I see the consequences of not making the perspective clear and specific. We could not afford to suffer the same experience of our comrades from Marx's time and contemporaries and our Lord Jesus Christ's disciples. All of them are aphostasised. Schism, debates could be settled by identifying the issue whether it is still in unity and consistent to our perspective and vision.

one could suggest or take action by him/herself. but it must assure the means should be consistent to the framework and consistent to and leading to our vision. or we will just do the same of the past. biting and devouring and consuming each other.

after careful evaluation, i noted a lot of advantages of doing so. we do not hide any and we could correct the misimpression and misunderstanding of Christianity and communism.

this is not a religion neither political. we simply would like to provide a place for the people with common goal, rejected by prevailing system and society in general.

with regards to curricula, you are right, i learned it from you and freiri.

though, we need a lot of resources. finance, good researchers, good teachers, child psychologists. DepEd is always consistent to exclusive for neoliberal conditioning of child's mind.

UNICEF is good but it is mostly based on foreign experiences. No Filipino research output (alternative) endorsed to UNICEF. But we could get some ideas from them.

we aim for a realistic and practical curricula. Philippines is somehow difficult. But we find ways for a cultural and historical diversity- sensitive curricula and teachers. Teachers are very important. Training and empowerment and orientation or reorientation.

it is also our aim not to condition the mind of the children to condemn neoliberalism. we will wait for the right time to introduce (fairly) the different systems in the society. then let the children to decide what to pursue in their life since the children is central to all of these (pls. do not be confused with family is central to child development).

Prof. thank you very much i need people like you. you are endangered and must be protected and should be covered with endangered species law.

I need more comment and suggestions.

keep in touch.

one question on practicality: are the filipino parents ready to entrust their children education to a christian communist school?

on rania's philosophy: why aim for singularity? for uniformity? the tower of babel fell down not because of the multiple languages used by its builders but because of the failure or refusal of the authorities then to recognize multiplicity.

the very shortcoming of both the communists and christians and jesus' disciples rested on the fact that they wanted to impose a single interpretation of the world. in their minds, the world outside their own was astray and therefore must be conquered and tamed, based on their view of what the world must be.

another point; why must rania be afraid of politics and being political? the very positioning it has done so far in the fields of ideology, in identifying itself in the context of philippiine realities already constitutes politics; already manifests political stand.

again, another point: what is rania's view of family? how will it consider the fact that so many evils in our society arise from the narrow concept of family being espoused by filipinos at present?

Prof. thank you very much. I really need people like you.

In fact, it is not just the parents who who are not ready to entrust the children to education or institution for care and education. DSWD is one major problem. It is not unknown that all government agencies are anti-
communists personality and systemic wise.

But it is a great challenge to present the truth about Christian Communism. It is up to the parent whether they will join rania Child Development Center or not. We need a comprehensive orientation for this. As part of rania' ethics, rania will introduce the school policies, curricula, etc.

it is just like selling a consumer good. a consumer must be informed of the ingredients, expiration date, price and nutritional facts. otherwise, producers are indirectly defrauding the consumers.

Parents and students are consumers of services and products of rania. They must be informed well of everything.

With regards to Philosophy, I am not sure if you are referring to Medium of instruction. rania believes that communication is a critical part of child development. we prefer the lingua franca for the children to easily absorb the knowledge they need. but English is not disregarded for accept the fact that most of the terms in Science and Math are in English and English per se is necessary for the children high and higher education and for the consumer of their produced skill and knowledge.

rania's operation is not limited to Philippines only. This will operate offshore in French, German, Spanish and other local dialects abroad.

all educ materials are for translation. even the toddlers and pre-school materials in software and interactive cd's we will be buying from High Scope will be reproduced in lingua franca. With high scope, we believe in the universal theories of child psychology and development at early stage. colors, sounds, shapes, scribbling..movements, etc. there is no need for different materials for every locality and or country. yellow in leyte is darag it could never be blue or bughaw. and circle as lidong and not triangle or tatsulok.

with Christian perspective, true Christian sense, there is no such thing as " want(ing) to impose a single interpretation of the world. in their minds, the world outside their own was astray and therefore must be conquered and tamed, based on their view of what the world must be".

We Christian believers are not discriminatory. We want or preparing ourselves for accommodate the poor Muslim people not to tame or conquer them. We even preparing a Madrasah Curriculum for the children victim of conflicts and abuses.

Prof, maybe you perceive the common practice of the "christians" who claim to be Christian but never in practice. and the practice of Communists driven by their elitist and superiority complex.

rania is not afraid of politics. but since rania is working within the framework of Christian Communism, politics is for Ceasar's and not of God's. Politics is about power and authority. rania is aiming for stateless society where there is no power and authority.

Please do not misinterpret the social realities associated or overlapped with politics . Philippines realities are not exclusive for politics. A man struggling over a piece of trash or a girl prostituting herself for a dinner does not constitute political realities.

Inaccessibility to their basic needs is not about politics. It is social. How a parent or sibling help them? The family relationship to one another? The community to individual and family?

Christian perspective is the basis of our family concept. Filipino or even in any other western culture, family is not Christian. They promote individualism opposite of Christian collective perspective of family. Individualism creates and promote competition and competition results to envy, greed and intention to destroy.

This could us help how we perceive a family.Even a community should be like a family-like core in a " big house" and in that big house are farms, sports complex and school, etc.

We do not believe in nationalism but globalisation. In globalisation there are no foreigners. We think ourselves equal to the people of Africa, Middle East, etc. When we were in SUARA, we shouted that we are citizen of the world. But in rania we will shout that we are one family.

i'll go back to my basic, question: why christian communism? why not plumb the depth of our own and start seeing the world from there? it doesn't mean going back to zero, it's already here just waiting to be tapped.

rani, you'lll be contradicting rania's holistic framework if you'll fragmentize man/woman to socail, cultural, etc. "give to cesar what is cesar's..." is a kind of thinking that fails to understand the basic fact of life: everything is intertwned, each aspect is a part of each.

Christian Communism is different from the political ideology in the early pre-Marxist communist movements of 19th century France and beyond from Europe and the Mormons'.

My Christian perspective could be seen on the Bible verses citations (ideological framework and supplemental basically based on "love your neighbor" thoughts) and my communism is the primitive communism where life was very simple. This is my basic but complemented with the human developed and modern intelligence and technology.

Like what I have mentioned, we will be a family with family members from around the world.

With due respect, I do not own any. Please elaborate. What do we own?

With "Ceasar's" doctrine, I do not contradict any. It is consistent to Christian and communist experience. But I do not say that immediately right after the establishment of rania, we will detach ourselves from the government. There will be a multi-level of progress and individual and community development. At first, every one shall be subject to government laws (it is God's will to submit ourselves to ordinances of man)but once we learned the ethics and morals of interacting with other men, gradually we will be free from ordiances of man but captives of our conscience but once we learned to love other peoples, then we will be free from government and ourselves but captives of Christ. We are in the perfect status if we love our fellows.

---------------to be continued ---------------

Please be informed further that SUARA is different from SUARA Bangsa-Moro Party List.

Thank you.

rania 2010: Where are we now?

Dear Comrades:

It was sometime in 1997, Yul Olaya and Michael Gatela invited me in their new tasks.

I was introduced to "rugby" boys (substance abusers), scavengers and other neglected children. The two long-time friends are working for children.

I was not new to the situation since I was working as a church worker and a teacher, administering the children's Sunday worships mostly in rural areas.

But our discussions and sharing of thoughts and experiences, what distinguished mine from theirs. I realized that teachings need concrete actions. It should not be just actions but with concrete output. We could easily claim that we love our neighbors, Our neglect to the needs of the poor neighbors, however, is another story.

My responsibility in church by that time made my association with Mike and Yul too short, but the plan to put the ideas into reality is made as a firm decision.

I stopped working for a church.

My time table to put up a children foundation was way ahead of my retirement age from elective public service. My time lapsed. So I jumped to the next chapter of my life which I dedicated to my BOSS.

In November 19, 2009, I registered the name of rania Child Development Center (a private foundation).

I reached the assistance of Michael in initial planning. He contributed much on the concept. His doubts raised questions that give way to clarifications of some issues, we were preparing and trying to reach our friends in the fields of economics and sociology for the General Well Being and Gross National Happiness (community in our situation)Growth and Development Indicators.

Aileen who remains to be critical and involve for social change does the same.

Alain lend his office facilities for some correspondence.

Ariem, his commitment to Curriculum Development in English and in so many ways.

Jessie though busy in his work as Head Teacher in an elementary school, is facilitating the accreditation (recommendation certificate for registration) of rania by DepEd. Others who are not mentioned remain to be silent workers.

We reached our college, high school and elementary years friends. Teachers and health worker practitioners and start discussing the foundation. Some are hesitant and some have committed to be of help.

We are consulting child psychologists and sociologists/social workers for DSWD Licensure and Registration for rania as institutional foster care center for orphans, street children prostitutes, scavengers, beggars
( http://www.unicef.org/photoessays/30556.html )
and other neglected sectors including the victims of conflict.

Our foreign counter-parts are not producing any development of our Center registration. But we are still outsourcing the progressive volunteers to assist us in working research and project plan.

Nominees and prospects for Board of Trustees membership remains but Mr. Chui Yeng is out.

We are trying to reach the people who will share to our Mission or in any way as volunteers.

Benefactors and donors' donations accumulated to nth millions. But these are all just commitments. No funds are transferred to our chest yet.

Most of the donated funds are subjected to clearances, duties and taxes (one foreign government asked me to pay Anti-Terrorists Tax, what a tax?). It is my conclusion that rania is suffering from political persecutions. It is hard to be proven but valid to say that rania even though at pre-operating stage is considered a threat to those whose interests are contrary to our perspective, beginnings and vision . rania is suspected to be or will be a lair or cover for what is demons for the greedy sectors.

rania however is not alone suffering. We are too many.

Please read the report of Ms. Lisa Jordan at

http://www.bernardvanleer.org/English/Home/News/News-2010/Terrorism-and-Non-Profits.html

At the moment due to our lack of finances and other resources, we slowed down our researches and consultations. Our progress is even slower due to lack of communication. Not one are used to cyber-organizing. We are used to face-to-face and constant meetings.

My imprisonment in 2009 -2010 also caused the delay. Until now I am forced to be in Mandaluyong City for Court hearings. Number of postponed meetings with benefactors and sponsors are increased. Postponed Donation Contract signing as worst. Others are waiting and just seeing. Lost of trust of confidence to others.

We are trying to reach the people who will share to our Mission or in any way as volunteers.

As another year will be added to our age, I consider it a loss of another year unless we are preparing or prepared the ones who will take our responsibilities in the future.

Your objective evaluation and assessment could give us additional strength to move any further.

Thank you.

Liu Xiaobo issue

(Transmitted to Comrades last December 10, 2010)

I am not a political expert and I would like to comment on Liu Xiaobo issue.

This is however in a managerial approach instead of political.

Any corporation operating in a global and international arena is run by the board, executives and managers. Most corporations' success could be attributed to its fiduciaries, corporate cultures and values.

China is like a corporation run by fiduciaries. Her success depends with them, her culture and values.

It must be noted however that fiduciaries are not demi-gods neither omniscience. The attitude of individual fiduciary is a great factor to the success of a corporation. A fiduciary must be open for suggestions and criticisms. A corporation's board or executive committee could not just punished or imprisoned a stockholder for his/her critical insights.

Liu Xiaobo is an insider. A stockholder. He is better be treated like an insider-consultant. The Chinese Board of Directors (Politbureau) must be sensitive to his views. They might give the Chinese corporation a competitive advantage. He must be dealt as well as other dissidents or critiques fairly.

Liu Xiaobo must engaged the Board through dialogues not confrontations.

Liu Xiaobo' ideas are about Re-engineering not subversiveness.

Liu Xiaobo must be released from prison cell and sit in as consultant to the Board. And the Board start discussing and debating on the change proposals of Liu Xiaobo.

It must be noted however that there is no successful global corporation neither domestic succeed because of the drift, different views of the board, executives, and stockholders. There is always one culture, one values and one party system in successful corporation.

And all successful corporation's board and fiduciaries are also cautious of competitors' "divide and conquer strategy."

A dictatorship of the (a wise man or) few wise men is better than a democracy of the mediocres.

Open Letter to President Noy Aquino lll

(This is transmitted to Pnoy last December 9, 2010)

Dear Mr. President:

Your victory and assumption of office as President of the Philippines gave light and renewed my strength and trust to Philippine government. With you leadership, I think that there would be a significant change in political and administrative trend in national public governance.

You cried out about the legacy of your parents. Democracy, justice, etc.

The great late Senator, your father, Benigno Aquino Jr., suffered physically, emotionally and psychologically from the hands of tyrannic late Ferdinand Marcos.

Marcos administration employed salvaging, illegal arrest, torture and illegal detention to mention a few of the demonic executions of ill-political will.

Your parents fought to the death for freedom (from tyranny), democracy and justice.

In year 2005, I suffered illegal arrest, detention and torture and I was even about to be one of the desaparecidos from the hands of Mandaluyong City local government under the leadership of Mr. Neptali Gonzales II (presently your political ally in Liberal Party and your Party Majority Leader in House of Representatives). I was detained again in 2009 and release in January 2010 by Mandaluyong City judges.

PNP, city employees (Task Force Ordinance personnel), judges and prosecutors are used as apparatus by Mr Gonzales to to exectue and cover his Satanic behavior. His influence was reaching the office of CHR Chairperson before assumed by Purificacion Quisumbing.

I filed my charges (again)against Mr. Gonzales and his disciples to the Commission on Human Rights with confidence to the leadership of Honorable Chairperson Ka Etta Rosales in September 2010.

5 Human Rights Week celebrations (5 years) have passed but until now there is no justice, respect to human rights and freedom from abuses remain to be a common practice among the Philippine bureaucracy and instrumentality.

Do we have to remain in Speech deliveries, Essay Writing, Poster Making or Logo Making Contests for Human Rights Week to keep the spirit and essence of man?

I do not have a wife neither a child to continue what I am fighting for.

But with you, I believe we could meet the ends.

Sincerely,

RANNIE C. AGUSTIN

rania Child Development Center

The name rania (without capital letter) is derived from Rani Agustin.

The purpose of the Center is to offer free education from pre- school to elementary levels at the highest possible quality and standards for poor children to make the best education accessible without discrimination. Quality and relevant education is the right of every child and not a privilege limited to children with wealthy background. This right is envisioned to attain child's fullest potential but is curtailed by poverty and greed.

rania is not offering solution to social problems but an alternative venue for the poor children to make their dreams possible.

VISION

rania envision a community working for children holistic development free from hunger, violence and cruelty, diseases and worries about basic needs and rights.

PHILOSOPHY

Our success is based on shared values founded on love, respect, trust and equality inspired by the Almighty God.

MISSION

rania will assist the parents and established partnership with institutions (private and government) in bringing up the children.
Our benefactors share their resources to support the plans and activities of rania and the community.

Our volunteers, officers and staff – our members will bring and productively use the diverse talents, experiences and skills for the community.
Our members are working collectively for members and stakeholders’ common good.

Where are we now?

rania is struggling to meet peoples who in a way is in unity in spirit and faith that its vision, mission and philosophy are attainable based on Christian Communism perspective.

Of rights and of wrongs...

“ Ang hindi bumoto ay walang karapatang magreklamo.”

This political ad is aired by GMA Networks which I had watched last night. I saw Manila Bulletin ( a daily newspaper) at the end of the spot.

I am alarmed by the authoritarian, misleading and manipulating ad. Long ago, I decided not to participate in Philippine politics including election. I will not vote.

I do not like to react but with the facts that millions of children have watched the the ad obliged me to point my view.

Children (and youth) are the most vulnerable sectors of the society. They could be easily brainwashed (conscious or by subliminal effect). To condition the mind of these segments are fair enough if the inputs are for positive outputs. But if it is the opposite,it should not be tolerated.
The ad unfairly suggested to the viewers that to vote is a must, otherwise they will lost their right to complaint.

I am not sure if the Manila Bulletin is the advertiser or a sponsor. Whatever it maybe, the ad is a product of mediocre and irresponsible creativity. Manila Bulletin and GMA Networks are both misleading the public. They lost their ethics and social responsibility (as corporate media, I regret that my 1-day lecture to FAITH (First Asia Institute of Technology and Humanities) in Tanauan, Batangas about responsible media to political reform was not materialised). They do not think that every adult is rightful not to vote and to vote is not a requirement for anyone to enjoy the right to complaint or participate in governance. Human rights is inherent and inalienable. The right to complaint is a part of the right to freedom of expression. To require a prerequisite for the right to fully enjoy, right is no longer a right but but a privilege. And this right to freedom of expression is the soul of the media. To curtail the rights is tyranny. Manila Bulletin and GMA Networks lost their reasoning by promoting tyranny and both are guilty of committing a suicide attempt.

I am not a political scientist or analyst like Prof. Alex Magno (who defended the worst president GMA and condemned the participants of the failed EDSA 3 attempt). However, I am sure of the above-mentioned media are promoting violations not just to the political rights but also to religious rights.

True Christians struggle against the devils in high positions and this, God’s will does not require any political vote. (Ephesians 6:12).

I do not vote but I tried my best to keep myself to be a Filipino citizen by commenting and criticizing. But after several years, I realised that Filipino citizenship is exclusive for the privilege wealthy and influential people. No one could protect and promote the basics of politics. We lost our statesmen and intellectuals. What have been left are intellectual ignoramuses and political morons. Others are just like me who get tired of complaining and criticising that led to political spirits to die.We lost citizenship and it is not about and limited to voting. It is the participation to administration of justice (according to one of the architects of democracy). For one to be a citizen, one must share to that and and sharing has multiple forms and avenues. The shares must be heard and be given attention. Writing names or shading the number of the candidates does not reflect the aspirations of the people.

I do not vote. I do not care. My concern is for the children. To mislead them is not acceptable otherwise the history of the mediocre will repeat itself when they reach adulthood.

I lost my citizenship. No regrets. I am a citizen of the world.

Liberty For Sale

I struggled before and during my stay in jail for justice. Justice for the rich and poor--equal protection of the law and the rule of law for those with the money and those who do not haves.

I declined the suggestions of my lawyer-friends from a distance and the pressure of the judge to post bail for my temporary liberty. They got my liberty without the due process of law and they are selling it back to me for a price. Liberty is now a commodity in a monopolistic market.

Wanted the truth, justice and the rule of law to prevail--the power of reasons not of money, I spent 50 days inside the cell with inmates.

But despite of my facts and arguments presented, my position remains to be in a disadvantage side. After realizing that the Philippine legal system is really working in a capitalist framework and its agents give more weight on the value of money, I compromised. I posted 4 thousand bail for my temporary liberty. I am no martyr. I am wasting my time and risking my life to a great danger. My ideologies and definition of justice are not for them.

"...evil prospers where good persons are silent."

I woke up early this morning from the bed of bushes and granites. A few meters walk to U.S. Embassy, I had my smoked-fish and rice bought along Roxas Boulevard. Smoking my Fortune cigarette after my breakfast, I continue my steps which is my everyday routine. A poster in a small book shop caught my attention somewhere in Padre Faura Street. It reads “...evil prospers where good persons are silent.”

This reminds me of the Jesus Christ teaching through the Holy Spirit spoken by James that “if there are some good things to be done, and do nothing is a sin.”

I decided not to speak for the mean time due to the realities that Courts are sensitive to comments of the persons involve in cases they are handling.

But I do not want to commit sin otherwise I will let the demons prosper.

I verified the “criminal records” against me filed in National Bureau of Investigation by securing Court Clearance in Mandaluyong City last Thursday (November 19,2009). It turned out that my case (which dismissed in 2005) is in archives and warrants of arrest are issued against me by two judges. I clarified the decision to Prosecutor Flordeliza Silao. She told me that I was released (in December 2005) from jail before for the case is for further investigation.

I asked the service of a Public Attorney (PAO) and requested him to make a Motion to quash the warrants of arrest and to dismiss the case. The Public attorney asked his staff to encode and print my motion fro signature and immediate filing.

To my disappointment the Motion reads as “MOTION TO RE-OPEN THE CASE AND TO POST BAIL”. The staff told me to sign them which I refused. I reminded him what I was asking for. An old Attorney beside him intervened in our communication and told me that “wala nang libre ngayon.”

I left the Public attorney's Office. I made my own motion. Without a single penny in my pocket, I tried to approach some friends and acquaintances for a few bucks for reproduction of the cases documents and information. I approached Khong's |Internet Cafe for the printing of my Motion for account.

I filed my motion on November 20, 2009 to Branch 60 and 59 of Mandaluyong MTC. One employee in Branch 60 told me that my Motion is wrong. And I must post bail. I keep on wondering since my first contact with these employees, I was harassed by two employees to pay otherwise they will issue the warrant of arrest. The following day, the language remains to be that same. Money is the talk of the office. I simply told the the female employee “just put me in jail, I do not have money.” Nobody arrested me. Employees in Branch 60 seemed to be agents of money makers and not of justice. I wonder if these people are Civil Service Eligible. Talking to me as if the error in format of motion means I am guilty. They look at the opportunity to receive money but not at the content of the documents. In the first place they are not judges.

Not bad for me the whole situation. I went to Branch 59. the employee (she is Marie) received my motion and told me the Notice for Hearing for your Motion must indicate specific date. She told me that when do you like it to be? Our schedule are Tuesdays and Thursdays. We will calendar it. I chose the nearest date. November 24, 2009. I have the right to a speedy trial. I do not want to lost my sanity otherwise we will go back to an era when barbarians prevail.

I was abused. I filed my case against Neptali Gonzales, few business men, etc. I was indicted in December 7, 2005 to force me to issue an affidavit of desistance against them. Justice is not given to me and it is me who is facing imprisonment.

Though it is difficult to establish valid evidence that a dead case is resurrected to be used against me to silence me and stop me from criticising GMA administration and others.

GMA's mediocricy

The lifting of oil price cap order by GMA is quite disappointing. It was the only Executive Order she made that truly benefit the whole constituents. It was a about to deliver justice—equal treatment of rich and poor. But GMA's toughness is limited only for activists and journalists protesting her performance.

The threat of the oil price cap, I am speaking in managerial perspective, was about to be opportunities. And because of the lifting, we lost those opportunities.

The oil industry was about to have the opportunity to improve its managerial skills and developing the whole human capital to entrepreneurship for better productivity and exploit the technology for efficient and effective management to meet its goals.

GMA is poor in leadership to convince the oil firms that they will also benefit in a lot of ways by sacrificing a little financial gain and she is a mediocre at all.

One good example is recognized by Shell which announced that it is planning to stop its refinery operation due to its high cost based in Mean of Platts Singapore (MOPS) and would rather import refined products. If Shell to decide to continue the refinery ops, it will require for more capital for modernization.

If the cap order is not lift, Shell would probably modernize its refinery resulting (not to mention the capital infusion from its global headquarters) to technology advancement and human capital skills advancement. With the lift order. This dream turned out to be a nightmare—no aggressive process development and skyrocketing price of oil.

One possible scenario if the cap is not lift, Shell will abandon it refinery and import refined products (application of Adam Smith's doctrine but practitioners and disciples of Smith forgot or ignore that the principle of “it is better to buy than to produce if the cost of buying is less than the latter” is aimed to discharge corporate social responsibility and fiduciary obligations to stakeholders not just for profit alone).

Please read: http://raniagustin.blogspot.com/2009/02/laissez-faire-buy-american-and-road-to.html

But this threat is again an opportunity for the government to give the market a fair competition in oil industry. Government should take over the would-be abandoned refinery companies to save the workers from losing jobs.

Politically, I would like to congratulate the oil firms. Oil firms won the battle in political arena even without lifting a finger. They just simply hire Energy Secretary Angelo Reyes to be their Spokesman and employ psychological-warfare. I admire the oil firms unity. Organizational effectiveness is becoming obvious. This strength is what the peoples' organization and marginalized sector lack. Some are very limited to street parliamentary (and worse, rhetoric).

The Congress should not sit back as if nothing happened. The people-oriented legislative agenda must continue and be given priority over politics.

Otherwise the Congress will be the midnight Board of Directors of oil firms and Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo is their midnight CEO.

Afghan War and Phillipine Wars

Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, speaking to reporters in the Philippines, zeroed in on that Thursday.

"We're looking to President Karzai, as he forms a new government, to take action that will demonstrate — not to the international community, but first and foremost to his own people — that his second term will respond to the needs that are so manifest," Clinton said. "And I think that the corruption issue really goes to the heart of whether the people of Afghanistan feel that the government is on their side, is working for them."

Central to any counterinsurgency fight is the struggle over the legitimacy of the government. One explanation for the resurgence of the Taliban over the past three years concerns the failings of the Afghan government, which the Taliban have managed to exploit by offering what many Afghans see as a viable alternative. That is why Obama has taken pains to push for greater nonmilitary support for the mission — additional State Department personnel and more focus on developing Afghan agriculture and trade.

I really appreciate US State Secretary Hillary Clinton on her analysis of the Afghan political crisis. I hope that she could arrive also on the same conclusion with the Philippines perspective.

US indirectly involved itself in war in Mindanao ( against MILF, Abu Sayyaf,) and other armed insurgency nationwide through Visiting Forces Agreement.

Wars in the Philippines nowadays could be pointed to questionable legitimacy of GMA government and failures to deliver justice among its constituents. Insurgents also managed to exploit the injustices of Filipinos (Muslims and non-muslims) to offer alternative that made the victims and rebels belligerents. The worse scenario is that some Muslim freedom lovers used to misinterpret the Quran and believed that to annihilate the oppressors and non-conformists to their political belief (non-muslim and Muslim are enemies alike if they do not join their strugles or extreme jihadism). Jihadism is used by leaders (spiritual and military) who are frustrated by government outcomes for Islamic interests with balance to non-muslims. But it is a Jihadism, polluted with hatred and personal belief and no longer Quranic because they do not spare anyone including fellow Muslims and in Surah II Quran, war is just if waged for the sake of defense not for aggression. (For further reading, Milestone by Sayyid Qtub)

President Obama recognized that and it makes him reluctant to and it is painstaking to push for more aggressive military offensives.

The Philippine government should have the same thinking of the two US leaders. Philippines is not worse as Afghanistan. Belligerents are still willing to continue the Peace talk. Sincerity and heart to take care the rebels' concern is the way to peace. Government agencies are elders and its President is the father/mother of a society as in one family. The rebels are also children and members of the family (constituency)that should be taken into consideration and deserve the best things the parents (government)could afford to give.

Nobel Prize, Climate Change and Privatization

The documentations and analysis of Elinor Ostrom, Nobel Prize in Economics awardee, of human tendencies “to act selfishly when acting as individuals and yet act altruistically and for the common good when acting as communities” is proven false by our experiences of climate change and degradation of biodiversity.

Acting as individuals or as communities, humans tend to be selfish to the extent of being greedy. That is the reality. Competitions among individuals and communities despite of inter-regional and international agreements compete over market resources. Community-based organizations compete over resources ( for sectoral leadership or survival). Individuals in communities or organizations compete over resources motivated by the culture shaped by the capitalistic system. This culture recognizes the wealthy as authority and wealth as component of leader-potentials. This culture further respects, accepts and approves those who own and control the resources. The treatment and status everybody wants.

Individuals who are already on such status want to keep the status quo and would like to make the same as legacy to their children and to their children’s children by acquiring more properties and wealth. This motivation gives individuals the strength to get by all possible means all the resources including the things that belong to the weaker individuals. And to accumulate wealth, production and continuous growth (in financial language) are necessary no matter what and how the consequences are as long as they are unnoticeable.

Ostroms’s prescription of privatization of common properties that are poorly managed is a toxic poison enough to kill the ailing earth in a matter of short time. Common and I may include the privately owned properties are poorly managed and that is the reason of climate change and biodiversity loss without elaborating and mention of other social and economic injustices. The “tragedy of the commons” still holds to be true.

Government intervention is neither an effective pill because it is run by individuals with and of the same motivation and selfish tendencies. Government is only permitted to intervene (and to exist) if it is run by selfless individuals*.

What is necessary to be taken is education. Education is not just an antidote but a vaccine once sustained. This will change our heart necessary to have an alternative mind-setting and reshape the culture that will rebuild not just moral and caring communities but loving communities of loving individuals.

Education however must have a strong base to be able to stand for a lifetime.

I am not a victim of scarcity of resources. But I am of poor management or resources (they are mostly privatized and the publicly owned are for sale). I am naturally immersed to a community of victims and on the other way contribute to environmental negative effect. They are uneducated and those who know to keep the ecosystem balance have no choice for survival.

Christian Communism

Some of us are not exposed or with little awareness of political and social ideologies. This framework is not mainly from the politics of the Communism based on Marx, Lenin, Mao, Trotsky and any other political thinkers and philosophers.
This is not about the political ”left” or “right”, extreme or moderate, orthodox Marxism or revisionism, reformist or revolutionist, neither reaffirmist or rejectionist.

We may mention some ideas along the way of reading, digesting, internalizing this and formulating thoughts and strategies that is similar to them (unless mentioned) but not necessarily intended to ignore nor not giving them due credit and acknowledgement but to emphasize the teachings of Christ.

The Christian Communism is a social ideology based on Christian beliefs, teachings and aspirations.

Before we elaborate any further, however, it is important to know the correct definition of Communism. Enemies of political communists and communism misled much of the learners, and observers of national and international political order.
Communism is erroneously defined to favor the interests of wealthy people who managed to power-broke if not occupied the key government positions. It is mixed with terrifying qualifiers and descriptions to discourage support, belief and sympathy of the peoples. Anti-communism defined it as authoritarianism, totalitarian, in the Philippines it is defined as NPA (New People’s Army) and in the heights of Al-Qaeda’s popularity, the wealth accumulators took advantage of the time by tagging the Communism as terrorism and communists as terrorists.

Let us take a definition from a dictionary for at least to make our individual knowledge and orientation level.

What is Communism?

Communism, according to a dictionary, is a theory or system of social organization based on the holding of all property in common, actual ownership being ascribed to the community as a whole...( http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/communism )

From this definition, please remember the phrase “…holding of all property in common, actual ownership being ascribed to the community as a whole..” a system prevailing in a social organization or society which is commonly known Communism. It is obvious that there is no private property but common property which is ascribed to the community as a whole. In capitalism, property ownership is on the hands of private individual or group.

For Karl Marx it is, both social and political in nature that aims for a classless and stateless society constructed upon common ownership of the means of production, free access to articles of consumption, and the end of wage labour whereas, labour sector would no longer be motivated to work by monetary or material incentives, and the social classes that existed under capitalism ( and socialism) will disappear, and each man contributes according to his or her ability but consumes according to his or her needs; and abolition [Aufhebung] of private property. (http://www.marxists.org/archive/marx/works/1844/manuscripts/comm.htm;http://www.economictheories.org/2008/07/karl-marx-socialism-and-scientific.html)

It is a movement that molds or encourages, in other words a general strategy, aimed to a classless and stateless society which is also based in common ownership. But specify the means of production which include land, capital/machineries and technologies and materials. It also clarifies that common ownership does not end to means of production but the outputs ( basic goods and services)are also owned commonly which access is free and not for sale in exchange of money and salaries and wages are put to an end. Since all things are owned by all citizens or members of the community, and they work for free, they could get all their basic necessity for free without limits according to their families’ needs. This includes the free shelter as private property of real estate is put to an end as well.
It is concluded that an structured society has ended where propertied people or class with control of the properties and means are superior, conscious or not conscious, over the unpropertied. There will be no more employers neither employees, rich or poor. First class nor second class which exists whether we admit it or not, legislated or not, discrimination and unjust treatment is a reality nowadays. Classless society will put in place as private ownership is abolished.

Marx also aims for stateless society which interpreted with varied strategies by different political thinkers and leaders. It must be noted however that it is not communism alone struggling with such vision but capitalism as well.

Now let us take a look at Christian Communism.

It envisions a community or society (does not necessarily national or totalitarian) that is also structured based on equality and stateless philosophy.

Egalitarian Christianity

Christian Communism is not taught by Jesus Christ neither of Apostles. The historical and Biblical accounts show that we are instructed to “..love our neighbors..”

Apostle Paul teaches us how to be just with one another. He promoted equality among the followers of Christ and suggests the equitable distribution of wealth. Paul teachings provided a solution to poverty. (II Corinthians 8:13-14, 15)

It is not good for a Christian to be selfish and greedy. God hates such kind of people as written by Apostle John, and he stressed that love should not be a lip service but with actions and in truth. And that is not limited to people whom they personally know but to strangers as well. (I John 3:17-18; III John 1:5)

Does Christianity aim for a stateless society?

Yes. It is important to know first that, we, Christians, are taught to be thankful to kings (or presidents as time changes titles) for us may live in peaceful and quiet lives. We are instructed by the Lord to submit ourselves to authorities for they are established by God. (ITim2:1-2; Romans13:4-15.)

But Apostle Paul reminded us the limitations of being submissive to government if the government ceased to do its duties according to God’s will ”(f)or our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. (I Peters 2:13-17; Ephesians 6: 12)

However, Jesus Christ and Apostles do not teach us to rebel against any government (a component of a society to call it a state) neither call for its abolition.

It is predicted through the Holy Spirit by Apostle Paul that He has put an end all dominion or rule, authority and power for Jesus Christ to hand over the Kingdom to Almighty God. (I Corinthians 15:24-25)

There comes a time, when a community or society will be free from government jurisdiction, authority –laws and regulations, and force, a stateless society will be realised.

Paul the Apostle teaches us to love our neighbor—help one another, teach one another and other commandments by faith in Jesus Christ not by the virtue of legislated and executed laws by the government. Government Laws, regulations, force, intimidation, and suppression are just for the offenders to correct the misbehaviours and just for a little time while the transgressors are in training as tutees for them to make good works habits out of love. If these selfless good works are made habits then laws and government ceased to exist in our lives. (Gal.2:16,3:19, 23-24 25-26; Romans 13:9-10)

Classless and Stateless society is predicted to happen by Marx through the dictatorship of the proletariat but he forgot to consider the attitude of individual, commons sense and tendencies. As Antonio Gramci’s analysis, proletariat (workers)are working to keep the status quo for they see the status of the elites (capitalists and government bureaucrats)as good and standard of the society.

Proletariat work hard to be in elites’ status.

Nowadays, it is not just the proletariat but almost everyone from all different sectors (class) perceived the same despite of different generations and experienced oppressions have passed.

Peoples, especially Christians, must obey the Bible teachings. We all are required not to seek our own good, but the good of others. We are bound to help one another, show concerns and act for others for we are one and no one is independent from the others. We are obligated to others’ interests, discouraged to be with conflict but to be united as one and equal without discrimination.( I Corinthians 10:24; 12:14-25, 26) Collectivity is given priority than individuality but autonomy (as individual functions are used) of individuals remains for the common good and not for oneself. One’s gift including the material wealth, but I emphasized with human capital must be used to serve others. Intellectual abilities to create convenience, improvements of way of life must be concretised and create outputs to serve others not as profiteers but a faithful stewards of God. And in giving one’s gift for others interests, one should not count his or her contribution and compare to others. (I Peter 4:10; Galatians 6:4,5; I Corinthians 12:4-5)

Variants of Communism with different strategies are based in different political nexus and paradigms and that confuse and misled and keep astray from where they should be, the many. But we servants of Christ should demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God and be a good example of obedience for us to continue in our journey to communism…to our freedom. But freedom to help one another and not to take advantage and exploit one another. This freedom is freedom from oppressive and suppressive system and individual-self thoughts, attitudes and desires of being wealthy, powerful, authority, and superior class over the others that is harmful for others. This freedom is freedom from flesh but captive of the Spirit. (2 Corinthians 10:5; Gal 5:13-14, 15-17; Romans 13:9-10.)

The common problem of the variants of Communists is the absence of recognition to Gramsci’s analysis. The Vanguard Party of Lenin.., Red Army of Mao and others’ considered leaders or redeemers of the masses from tyrannical clout of capitalism are describable as the class with Gramci’s Proletariats’ common sense .

Collective leadership is encouraged through the Spirit within individual citizen by learning to devote ourselves to do what is good. (Galatians 5:18; Titus 3:14)

But leaderships must come with knowledge and understanding. One with the gift of ability to teach must teach, ability to heal must heal and so on. (I Corinthians 12:4-5)

Organic Intellectuals’ role will bring us to our aspiration but it must be based on and guided by the requirements of Jesus Christ for the Holy Spirit to lead His peoples. Whoever in that role and everyone are reminded to do the tasks with humility.(Philippians 2:3-11; James 4:4-6; Galatians 6:4-6)

If anyone among us failed to work in humility and with other requirements of Jesus Christ, we will find ourselves in disorder and evil practice and again the state will exist again to intervene. (James 3:13-18)

The Big Lies of Arellano University and the Labor Arbiter's (Stupid) Decision

After two weeks of protest and few hours of hunger strike the decision of the Labor Arbiter Ramon Valentino Reyes on my complaint against Arellano University is released.

FACTS: In October 2008, I was given by the School of Business and Commerce of Arellano University in Pasay the Strategic Management teaching loads for 2nd Semester Academic Year 2008-2009. I prepared and submitted my Course Syllabus to the office of Dean Mary Jean Manalili. I was also preparing the case texts of General Electric for my class case study.

In November 7, 2008, Dean Manalili cancelled all my teaching loads and will not teach anymore in Arellano for 3 grounds; 1) Sexual harassment charge of one of my students who I failed for not meeting the minimum requirements; 2) lack of Master’s degree; and 3) disobedience. (Accordingly, my teaching loads were given to Profs. Fabian and Salvador).

I appealed the matter to the Human Resource Department Vice President Frderick Dedace contesting the abuse of discretion of the SBC dean. Mr. Dedace ignored my appeal.

I charged the University for Unfair Labor Practices (illegal dismissal) in November 17-18, 2008 to Labor Department National Labor Relations Commission. I am dismissed without the due process of law and 2 letters of dismissal.

I demanded for my reinstatement, fullbackwages and research allowance, etc.

DEFENSE (LIES) OF ARELLANO: I am not dismissed by the University. In loco parentis my appointment is not renewed. My contract expired by the end of first Semester.

FACTS: Affidavit (OF ARELLANO UNIVERSITY) submitted is with emphasis on sexual harassment charges of Ms. Magdalena Manding. The University did not explain the abuse of discretion of Mrs. Manalili.

DECISION OF LABOR ARBITER (Based on the Copies of the Decision furnished to me by the NLRC National Capital Region): UNFAIR LABOR PRACTICES-ILLEGAL DISMISSAL CHARGE AGAINST ARELLANO UNIVERSITY IS DISMISSED DUE TO LACK OF MERITS AND LEGAL BASIS.

BASES OF DECISION: ON THE PREMISE THAT I AM NOT DISMISSED BUT MY CONTRACT OF APPOINTMENT IS NOT RENEWED DUE TO MY "POOR PERFORMANCE".

ANALYSIS: Labor Arbiter Ramon Valentino Reyes judged the case based on Arellano rhetoric without evidence and based on false premise and disregard my position with evidences and based the "poor performance" which Arellano University did not mention inits COunter Affidavit, Replies and Rejoinder. My Performance as per the record and signed by the Dean is "Very Satisfactory" the highest remark they could give to Faculty Members. How the inutile arbiter (as his bosses)could tell that my performance is poor?

Labor Arbiter is a disgraced to Labor Department and make the whole department stupid and that reflects the Chief Executive Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo's futility in executing the law to ensure a just and peaceful Philippine Society.

My Protest Continued

My protest against Atty Ramon Valentino Reyes for his incompetence turned to be a protest against the Labor Secretary Marianito Roque. I called his office's attention asking for help to look on my case. It is almost a month that I was informed that my case is already in his hands for evaluation but no resolution and decision yet.

However the Roque office do nothing. I call him INUTIL (inutile) through my posters and placards posted on Intramuros wall.

Last May 6, third day of my protest, KMU arrived and join me in my area with their protest against the Labor Department for incompetence and non implementation of Supreme Court Ruling against Nestle.

Some of the employees/officials tried to intervene in my case until this morning (May 8) Some of them showed their ignorance of the Organizational Structure of Labor Department. They do not know that Labor Relations Commission is under the Department's supervision. One who happened to be a lawyer and from the office of the Secretary, insulted my street parliament strategy. He told me that it will not work and I will lost my case. But he boasted that he was one of the street parliamentarians who ousted the U.S bases. Inconsistent and mediocre employee.

Until Paul Cabugao from Asst. Secretary Conferido Office tried to be of help. He communicated my protest and expedite the proper attention to my case.

My protest will resume on Monday and continue until the decision is reached and furnished to me.

My birthday...my protest

My 37th birthday was yesterday (May 4, 2009). I told some of my friends that I will celebrate it on Department of Labor and Employment, Intramuros, Manila City (I stand corrected, I learned by the time I informed the security that I will stay across the DOLE building that the new Secretary is Marianito Roque who succeeded Secretary (Brion and)Patricia Sto. Tomas) in protest against the delay of the result of my complaint against Arellano University for illegal dismissal .

Yesterday, it was quite strange. Securities and some employees are very accommodating. They provided me drinks (water and juice) and care for my health (I was exposed to sunlight; thank God I survived the whole day. I beat the sunstroke). Opposite of my experiences when I was with the groups, I was almost always mauled by the dispersal team, securities grabbing our placards.

I appreciate some DOLE employees for showing their concern to me. However my concern is beyond their authorities. But some are very disappointing for I expected some of them (especially the Executives who have authorities over NLRC) will go down to me to resolve my demand for immediate action. None of them cared as if they are not public servants but lords and kings. So nothing happened.

I returned this morning (May 5, 2009). So far same as yesterday, no one of the Execs showed for clarifications. One advised me just to write the Secretary which I refused. I submitted already my written complaint (notarized by a lawyer), rejoinder, letter to Executive Arbiter but got no result. If those things failed, why should I do it again? Encouragement of elitist way of transacting business with them is what they want me to do. While in my picket line, two men approach me in separate occasions. The first one who are with his union members told me their objectives. They were there for possible remedy for NLRC decision in favor of Coca cola Bottling Corp. They asked the NLRC to decide on the matter of security of tenure removal from CBA provisions and discrimination of union members for career advancement and discouragement of new employees and laborers to join union for them new comers will be given priority for advancement. After exchanges of information and experiences, they left and I hope the Court of Appeals will reverse the decision in favor of the union and to uphold the Constitution and labor rights.

The other one who is a KMU labor leader, inquired about my case and its status. We had a little chat and part our ways with well wishes to both of us.

3:30 pm, I left Intramuros and marched to Makati City. By around 4:00 pm, I was in Ayala Avenue. . Along Thailand Street near Legazpi St., I was apprehended by MACEA roving security guard. He forced me to keep my placards which I refused by asking what ordinance he is applying. He replied it is MACEA policy not to allow anyone with placards to pass the vicinity. It is private property, he justified. I just provided him my name and address and told him to charge me for any violation. I will wait for their subpoena.

He let me go. To my surprise, he was ahead of me along Amorsolo Street and apprehended me again. By this time with invectives against me. I explained that the road is for motorists and passersby I have the right of way for it. He replied that “…but without placards…”. I told him that it is my right to express my grievance freely. And I left the arrogant and fascist-like security guard.

On the other corner he was there waiting for me, by that time, in a more aggressive gestures. I warned him that if he would touch me, I will charge him but he hold my placards but he was alarmed with the hard object supporting my placards. He radioed his buddies for reinforcement. I immediately left the place to avoid any injuries to incur. They are not my priority-enemies to fight with.

Though, it is very alarming that MACEA, a private organization, could implement policies violating the Constitution and other Civil Laws. A private martial law in Makati Area, too dangerous. I hope that Mayor Jojo Binay could check this as he aspires for Presidential bid.

The Business of Politics

The heads of the state and government are ministers of God. Their power and election by God extended to the governors, his bureaucrats and all the members of government and expected to exercise the administration of justice for the sake of the citizens. If they failed to discharge their duties, they are no longer ministers of God but deputies of Satan.

Citizens of democratic country elected their rulers by casting votes as a formal delegation of power to rule and administer. The power in trust is for the citizens' welfare and interest anot for the elected rulers sake and interest (just like the agents of Corporation, see the Politics of Business). The will of God for the people to live a quiet and peaceful lives is manifested in people's aspiration of the same in choosing their candidate. With this, the ruler is made God-elect.

Citizens are duty-bound to initiate, intervene, and cooperate in the administration of justice to attain peace. And God has no favorite country and accepts anyone who fears (obey) Him and He desires all men to be saved.

The government and citizens with common goal of justice and peace are not nearsighted to see their duty as a state to other nations. The "love your neighbors" obligation shall be recognized as basic principle for international relations and not just limited to domestic affairs. And love does no harm to neighbors but help, serve, cooperate to one another instead of using freedom as an opportunity for profit making and earthly ambitions.

The Politics of Business

The fall of corporate businesses could be traced to management’s disorientation, unethical and immoral misdeeds, unaccountability and abuse of power perpetuated by unwritten rules.

The government's failure to frame community-oriented public policy to guide corporations is also the reason of the collapse of businesses resulting to economic downturns.

Management and government are not the only ones to blame but also the shareholders.

Let us take a brief review of the corporate code. The law provides a set of legal rights to shareholders. One is to elect corporate directors and officers and that extended to the appointment of agents (executives and managers). This right is a delegation of powers to corporation management and that includes the shareholders control and gives certain rights but not the right to run the business for the management’s own benefits.

In practice, individual shareholders take passive roles in corporate governance and the institutional shareholders are vigilant solely to corporate economic activities. Both basically are individual owners of a corporation. The large investment stocks that could equal to power are in the hands of institutions (like pension and social security agencies, investment houses, banks, etc) that aggregate the funds of the individuals for power conversion, and proxies.

The shareholders delegate powers to institutions and proxies and the institutions and proxies delegate the same to the management and agents.

Another right is as important as the first one. The shareholders have the right to receive dividends from corporate earnings and that right gives the management the fiduciary duty to attain corporate economic mission.

The economic mission, however, fundamentally strengthened by the wrong interpretation of Friedman’s principle makes the management disoriented and motivated to take unethical decisions and focused mainly on the economic interests of shareholders. Modern management theorists like Merrick Dodd, a Harvard Professor, however contended that fiduciary duty of the management is not solely for shareholders but also for the whole community.

Thus, it is legitimate and essential to orient corporate management decisions that fiduciary obligation should go beyond shareholders interests to include the interests of the whole society.

A corporation, as an artificial persona, is a member of a society and has the right to act freely for its own benefit but such right entails responsibilities to the rights of others –natural or artificial. Corporation rights ceased to give way to communities common good.

The fiduciary duty of corporate management is not solely for shareholder’s economic objectives but also for shareholders’ social objectives (take the GE case in 2002 when activist-shareholders stepped on corporate governance questioning the greenhouse gas emission of their products which resulted to corporation and community’s mutual benefits).

It is high time for shareholders (direct or indirect) to take active roles. Helpless consumers of high price and poor quality utilities, goods and services and employees with inadequate pay and poor labor treatment could be addressed through their ownership rights and powers delegated to institutional shareholders (investors holding consumers and employees’ pension, social security funds, savings, etc.)

Activism will revolutionize passive ownership to active ownership to impact radical change in every corporation from economic mission to holistic mission, from competitive to cooperative. McKinsey & Company and Deutsche Bank discovered that activism helped add billions of dollars to the value of the company and boost the economy.

The huge investment stock is consisting of employees and consumers’ properties. There is no need to revolt or hope for presidential wannabes to take the control of the proletariats (or civil society) in place. Let us unveil the mask of the new face of socialism which economic activities yields are for community reinvestment instead of squeezing to whims and caprices of traditional capitalists. Let us decipher the overlooked existing but dormant collective ownership, leadership, responsibility and benefits.

Educated Morons and Intellectual Ignoramuses

I received PhPesos 140.00 for the "task" (laundry) well done aside from a PhP 30.00 for my snacks.

Kuya Boy as I used to call him is one of the persons I get related with. Like others , from different sectors I immersed with, I listened to his story.

He came from Mindoro, a place of beautiful resorts and beaches to find what Metro Manila could offer him.

Finished as 3 grader in elementary school, he lost interest in attending school in his early age to do farm works to help provide his family needs. A typical barriotic child in the country side. He adventured from one trade to another until he settled as company driver in Pasay City . With meager salary, he raises his family with 3 children.

Truthfulness to his words reminds of the peasants who are not degree holders and hardly spell own names and write with difficulties. They fulfill what they have committed. They show early to scheduled meetings. Palabra de honor is their common denominator.

Opposite to other persons I know, educated with higher learnings and universally categorized as “professional” but in realities or in the conduct of their professions are contrary to their ethics.

Master, doctor, law, engineering and other higher learnings blinded them enough to disregard the seal of agreement or what is expected from them and intoxicated enough to be insensitive to reciprocal of respect and self denial in pursuit of mutual or common good.

I was engaged with a UP Graduate student for his master’s thesis. After his completion of his Master’s degree, he did not pay me my PhP 20,000.00 consulting fee. To make my experience forgettable, I just consider him as one of the special children (down syndrome case) with special needs.

I earned an accumulated commission income of PhP---- but I am not paid despite of the efforts to collect them through demand letters and confrontation to the president and vice president who is a licensed accountant of an advertising company. These two executives are professional swindlers and like their company name, they are like Satan who transformed into a bright star and fell.

Atty. Shalemar Buenaventura, a lawyer, who I helped for his means when he was at the time of his law studies, double-crossed me in the advertising business I put up with my aunts’ money. Multi-million pesos is now involved but this lawyer with Llb diploma and passed the bar together his confederators CPA's by profession learned not the laws against syndicated estafa and the Philippine Corporate Code.

There was an engineer, consulted to me for his honey bee and essentials products marketing and SCA.I provided him the key-pointers. When I asked for 20-25 bottles of the honey products for sampling and feedback to be used for inputs in his SCA, the educated engineer demanded 50% down payment from me for the products I asked. Blatant opportunist and money-wiser. He did not pay my PhP50,000.00 consulting fee.

More disappointing engagements happened with "educated" clients who consulted from preparation of Article of Association and Incorporation to policies, systems and controls to business development and so on not to mention my encounters with the academe sector (http://raniagustin.blogspot.com/2008/12/teaching.html#links) and the government and private institution "professionals".

It is false to say with unanimity that once a person is educated with higher learnings or diplomas, the person is professional.

The truth is professionalism grows in someone’s heart—educated or not.

I do not wonder if there are a lot of educated morons and intellectual ignoramuses. Their hearts are barren---pre occupied by Satan.
