Liu Xiaobo issue

(Transmitted to Comrades last December 10, 2010)

I am not a political expert and I would like to comment on Liu Xiaobo issue.

This is however in a managerial approach instead of political.

Any corporation operating in a global and international arena is run by the board, executives and managers. Most corporations' success could be attributed to its fiduciaries, corporate cultures and values.

China is like a corporation run by fiduciaries. Her success depends with them, her culture and values.

It must be noted however that fiduciaries are not demi-gods neither omniscience. The attitude of individual fiduciary is a great factor to the success of a corporation. A fiduciary must be open for suggestions and criticisms. A corporation's board or executive committee could not just punished or imprisoned a stockholder for his/her critical insights.

Liu Xiaobo is an insider. A stockholder. He is better be treated like an insider-consultant. The Chinese Board of Directors (Politbureau) must be sensitive to his views. They might give the Chinese corporation a competitive advantage. He must be dealt as well as other dissidents or critiques fairly.

Liu Xiaobo must engaged the Board through dialogues not confrontations.

Liu Xiaobo' ideas are about Re-engineering not subversiveness.

Liu Xiaobo must be released from prison cell and sit in as consultant to the Board. And the Board start discussing and debating on the change proposals of Liu Xiaobo.

It must be noted however that there is no successful global corporation neither domestic succeed because of the drift, different views of the board, executives, and stockholders. There is always one culture, one values and one party system in successful corporation.

And all successful corporation's board and fiduciaries are also cautious of competitors' "divide and conquer strategy."

A dictatorship of the (a wise man or) few wise men is better than a democracy of the mediocres.
